Estuve unos dos años vendiendo libros por las casas.
A mi nadie me esperaba, la gente estaba totalmente ajena a lo que yo tramaba que era, llamar a sus puertas, entrar y venderles una enciclopedia. 

Una mañana iba yo por la calle pensando en como organizarme las visitas, cuando me crucé con un borracho que andaba tambaleándose, le esquivé como pude y mi pensamiento fué ¡Madre mía como para encontrarmelo en una casa!.

Pues por la tarde, llamo a una puerta y cuando me abren..., uff allí estaba el mismo personaje que me había encontrado por la mañana, rodeado de su familia, tres hijas adolescentes y la esposa. Entonce pensé ¿que hago me voy o intento vender? pues con la idea de que estaba perdiendo el tiempo, se me ocurrió ofrecerles un curso de inglés en video y lo que me dejó atónita fue la reacción de este hombre (que seguía estando un poco "alegre"), que al momento dijo: "Sí, sí me interesa, siempre me ha gustado que mis hijas aprendan idiomas" y como las hijas se pusieron muy contentas y la esposa estaba conforme, pues vendí. Nunca había hecho una venta tan surrealista.

I was approximately two years selling books in the homes. Nobody was waiting for me, The people were ignoring totally what I was planning that was, to call to his doors, to enter and to sell an encyclopedia them.

One morning I was walking down the street thinking like organizing the visits, when I crossed with a drunk who was going staggering, I avoided him like I could and my thought was, My mother as I to meet him in a house!.

In the evening I call to a door and when they open me ..., uff there was the same person I had met in the morning!, surrounded by his family, three teenage daughters and wife. Then I thought, what do I do? I go away or try to sell ? So with the idea that I was wasting my time I came to offer an English course in video and what I stunned me was the reaction of this man (who was still a little "happy"), which at the time said: "Yes, yes. I am interested. I have liked that my daughters learn languages" and as the daughters were very happy and the wife too, I sold it! that sale so surreal!

I am learning English on line, hit just 54% of the test of the lesson, I ask my English readers who have patience, until I learn a little more. Thank you all.

Este cuadro de abajo, lo pinté de forma intuitiva sin planificar, es algo que hago a menudo y cuando acabé de pintarlo, me sorprendió lo que ví, me dí cuenta de que yo estaba reflejada en este cuadro. Abajo a la derecha hay una cama y una persona acostada y otra persona, una mujer, a los pies de la cama. Hacía unos meses que había fallecido mi padre. Yo le cuidé en la última etapa de su enfermedad y ahí en la pintura estoy curándole. Fué una situación muy difícil porque al mes siguiente también falleció mi hermano de un infarto fulminante.

This painting of down, I painted it intuitively without planning, it is something I do often and when I finished painting it, I was surprised what I saw, I realized that I was reflected in this painting. Below right is a bed and a lay person and another person, a woman, at the foot of the bed. A few months ago that my father deceased. I took care of him in the last stage of his disease and there in the painting I am treating him. It was a very difficult situation because to the following month also died my brother of a fulminating heart attack.

Mis libros de arte, artesanía, decoración, etc. Los libros que han influído en mi trabajo, unos más, otros menos, pero en general de todos he sacado enseñanza.

De Vermeer me gusta su evanescencia. El trabajaba a base de veladuras. Yo copiaba sus técnicas para aprender a poner los colores como él.

Me encanta la textura que tienen los frescos, aprendí a imitar esta textura con óleos, trabajándolo con espátula.

Y este último libro es delicioso. Se trata de las vidas de pintores, arquitectos y escultores italianos. Vasari describe a los personajes con un lenguaje rico, ameno y cercano.  El verano pasado mi hermana y yo nos sentabamos y yo le leía pasajes de este libro, disfrutabamos un montón con su lectura.

And the latter book is delicious. It is a question of the lives of painters, architects and Italian sculptors. Vasari describes the prominent figures with a rich, pleasant and nearby language. Last summer my sister and me sat and I read passages of this book, we enjoyed a lot with reading.

Durante unos años me dediqué a la pintura decorativa sobre diferentes superficies, madera, paredes, etc. Esas técnicas después las he utilizado también en la pintura artística y me han ido muy bien para aplicar técnicas mixtas en mis cuadros.

Aquí algunos de los trabajos. Los efectos imitación de mármol son sobre cartulina con pinturas acrílicas.

For a few years I devoted to decorative painting on different surfaces, wood, walls, etc. These techniques after I have used also by fine art and I have been very good to implement mixed techniques in my paintings.

Here some of the work. Imitation marble effects are on cardboard with acrylic paints

Cuando yo estaba aprendiendo el efecto de mármol siempre decian que había que usar oleos, pero como a mi me gusta experimentar por mi cuenta, pues empecé a usar pintura al agua y acrílica y los resultados eran buenos las superficies se secaban antes y además no tenía que estar oliendo a trementina, en fin muchas ventajas.

When I was learning the marble effect always told me I had to use oil paints, but as I like to experiment on my own since, I started using water-based paint and acrylic and the results were good the surfaces dried before further not have to be smelling of turpentine, in order many advantages.

Aquí aproveché una fornitura de unos pendientes que ya no me ponía, y pegué varios trozos en la pantalla, posteriormente pinté la pantalla y la base con pintura al agua.

El Baño

My mother bathed my brother.

Mi madre bañando a mi hermano en un barreño. En aquellos años pocas casas tenian duchas. Tampoco tenian televisores. En mi barrio sólo había una familia con televisor y allá que íbamos todos los niños a ver la tele. Como era en unos bajos, mirábamos por la ventana.

Esa familia como casi todas en el barrio se dedicaba a hacer trabajos en casa y en concreto ahí montaban etiquetas para la ropa, en otra casa almanaques, etc. Veias a toda la familia mirando la tele y cada uno con una cestita en la mano montando las etiquetas. A veces también dejaban entrar a los niños del barrio, te sentabas en el suelo y te daban tu correspondiente cestita llena de etiquetas y mientras veias la pelicula, ibas montando las diferentes partes de la etiqueta.

Nos parecía un privilegio que nos invitaran a pasar en vez de estar afuera pasando frio, pero no sé..., ahora pensándolo bien no sería eso una explotación infantil encubierta, ja, ja, ja.

"The Bath". The colors are deep, misty, as unreal, with a special finish because the last layers are painted in encaustic (beeswax and oil paints or pigments) worked with spatulas.

He tratado el tema del baño en varias de mis obras, como en esta más reciente que la anterior, que se llama precisamente "El Baño". Los colores se ven profundos, brumosos, como irreales, con un acabado muy especial porque las ultimas capas estan pintadas a la encáustica, (cera virgen y oleos o pigmentos) trabajadas con espatulas.

El arte de hacer un sobre a mano

Tenía 15 años y ese aspecto que veis en la foto, ya sé tengo los pelos a la cara, pero era la moda de Françoise Hardy. Y mi madre "quitate esos pelos de la cara" frase que repetía varias veces al dia, junto con otra "ponte derecha".

Cuando tenía 17 años entré como meritoria en una oficina. Y en mi primer dia de trabajo...

Mi jefe me dijo "toma esta carta y haz un sobre... , mismo a mano", frase ambigua donde las haya, pero a mi en ese momento no me lo pareció y ni corta ni perezosa, saqué un sobre del armario para tenerlo de muestra, y me lo puse delante, cogí las tijeras y un folio en blanco y de forma paciente y concienzuda fuí haciendo mi sobre a mano, tardé un poco por mi afán de quedar bien mi primer día, corté y pegué todas las partes.

Y una vez acabado se lo enseñé a mi jefe orgullosa de lo bien que me habia quedado, el hombre se quedó..., ja, ja, ja, y solo alcanzó a decir "no, no hacia falta, eh..., está bien eh..., quería decir que escribieras la dirección a mano..."

Ni que decir tiene lo poco rentable que yo parecía para esa empresa.

Esta obra es de una foto de cuando me dedicaba a robarle los muñecos a las otras niñas que estaban en el parque. En ese parque de Cádiz, donde ibamos a recoger hojas de morera para dar de comer a los gusanos de seda, había una fuente en la que para beber del caño, le poníamos una hoja de un árbol para dirigir mejor el agua hacia la boca.

Hace tiempo que hice este dibujo y ahora lo he trabajado con el photoshop y me han salido estas variaciones. No se aún donde lo aplicaré pero podría ser en papelería o tela o en cualquier otra superficie. Si alguien está interesado para aplicarlo en su producto acepto propuestas.

Some time ago I made this drawing and now I've worked with photoshop and got some of these variations. Not yet where I will apply but could be on stationery or fabric or at any other surface. Anyone interested in applying it to your product, accept proposals.
